A quick overview

BBQ Pages is a "Social Networking" site that has been designed with the barbecue community in mind.  We have tried to include some features that a lot of your will be familiar with.   At the same time we have engineered some user friendly features, that will be attractive for new users, to this type of web site.  Without a doubt, our aim from the beginning has been to build a site that will enable groups or people that frequent the many barbecue forums everywhere to communicate with each other.  We hope to be able to unite all the many groups of the BBQ Community and aid in helping you form new friendships. 

Here how it works

BBQ Pages allows individuals interested in barbecue to create their own, FREE, individual, and secure web pages and then invite their friends to communicate with them.  If you want to, you can restrict others access to you and allow only your friends to communicate with you.   If you want a more open type of environment that allows the public access to some of the information on your page, your can do so.  It's up to you how you structure, others access to you.

Setting up "Your Page"

This "Your Page," and get connected simply click on the "Join us now, it's free button."  you will be prompted to enter your information which consists of your name, username, e-mail, password, and a place to verify your password.  Then quickly review the terms and conditions and check that you have read and agree to the terms of conditions of BBQ Pages.com.  Then click the next button to get things started.  You will be sent e-mail to which you have to reply to in order to validate your e-mail address and then you can sign  in.

If you have a Facebook account you can select the "Connect with Facebook" link and this will allow you to make a connection with your Facebook account and so when you login to BBQ pages you're logging in to Facebook at the same time.  This is something that can be very convenient, because once the Facebook connections been setup all you have to do is click the blue button connect with Facebook and you login to both accounts at same time.  Also connecting with Facebook it allows you to connect BBQ pages with Facebook and interact with your friends on this site and to share on Facebook through your wall and friends new feeds.

Once your logged in to "Your Page" you need to set up your profile, your privacy settings and your preferences

Acquiring your groups of friends

You assemble your groups of friends by sending an invitation to them using the built in feature of BBQ Pages.  Once your invitation has been emailed to your potential friends they have the opportunity to accept or reject your invitation.  Your able to keep track of the requests that you have sent out and then approve the replies as they are returned to you.

You can also use the "search and advanced search" features of BBQ Pages to located friends that have already signed up on BBQ Pages.

If you do want to maintain separate groups of your friends, you can set up separate groups of your friends. There are several ways you can communicate with your friends using BBQ Pages.  One of the most common avenues of communication is to use the "Wall ."  When you post a message to the wall it goes to all the people that your have chosen as your friends.

Setting up your applications

The applications tab on your page allow you to choose the applications that you're using it also set up groups you can insert photos and videos off of this menu.

E-mail

The e-mail tab allows you to write and send out and received e-mails from your friends list using BBQ pages

Blog

The blog tab allows you to write articles that you can share with your friends on the BBQ pages.  It's a simple blog but it can be a lot of fun and help you communicate ideas that are just too big for posting on the wall or maybe an article that you don't want to send individually by email.   The blog can be a real nice little tool to share information with your friends
