A quick overview
This is where you can set up your own BBQ Forum + Page. We have tried to include some features that a lot of your will be familiar with. At the same time we have engineered some user friendly features, that will be attractive for new users, to this type of web site. Without a doubt, our aim from the beginning has been to build a site that will enable small groups and people that frequent The BBQ Forum to communicate with each other.
Here is how it works
BBQ Forum + allows individuals interested in barbecue to create their own, free, individual, and secure web pages and then invite their "Close Friends", so you cab communicate with them. You must set up your own levels of privacy so your information is secure.
Setting up "Your Page"
To get started simply click on the "Get Connected" button, you will be prompted to enter your information which consists of your name, username, e-mail, password, and a place to verify your password. Then quickly review the terms and conditions and check that you have read and agree to the terms of conditions of BBQ Forum +. You will be sent e-mail to which you have to reply to in order to validate your e-mail address and then you can sign in.
Once your logged in to "Your Page" you need to set up your profile, your privacy settings and your preferences. Be sure to set your privacy settings first so you can protect your private information. I know I have talked about privacy settings twice already, but it's important that you take care of this.
Acquiring your groups of friends ("We don't want you to have a
lot of phony friends, just a few really good ones you can count on.")
This web site has not been set up with the idea in mind of being connected
with as many "friends as possible. It is our hope that you will
use this site to quickly "Jump" from The BBQ Forum to BBQ Forum + for communications
with your really close group of friend and hold meaningful online communications.
We don't want you to get caught in the "FaceBook Trap" here; where you
are engaged the insane quest of having hundreds or thousands of
"friends" that you don't even know and where you are bombarded with
useless things that you really are not interested in, like what they had for
breakfast.
Setting up your applications
The applications tab on your page allow you to choose the applications that you're using it also set up groups you can insert photos and videos off of this menu.
The e-mail link allows you to write and send out and received e-mails from your friends list using BBQ Forum +.
Blog
The blog tab allows you to write articles that you can share with your friends on the BBQ Forum +. It's a simple blog but it can be a lot of fun and help you communicate ideas that are just too big for posting on the wall or maybe an article that you don't want to send individually by email. The blog can be a real nice little tool to share information with your friends.
